Manor Crawler

A game-ready character made for a horror / puzzle game concept blending Five Nights At Freddy's with Resident Evil puzzles.Made in Maya / Blender, textured in Photoshop and running in Unity.

Final Model

This character was made with the intention of being used in the 3rd person puzzle solving section of the gameplay loop, so I kept poly count low. I only needed this model to be able to do basic actions, so most attention went into readability. The jacket has a portion of the inner side modelled too, to allow for secondary motion in walk cycles.

Animation Reel

The rig.

Early development and secondary motion in an idle animation.

Unity Work

Using code, I was able to set up facial animations to bring some extra life to my character.

Concept Art

The setting of this game and characters was all based around one extended family, so within my designs I tried to embed symbolism of cycles of abuse and relationships. Each family member is meant to represent their role within the family dynamic, like the mothers wide shoulders for the weight of being the eldest sibling, or the Grandma's snake-like motifs as the matriarch of the house.
